Why does the village name matter so much here?
Because the Town of North Hempstead is a patchwork. Great Neck, Port Washington, Manhasset, Roslyn, Westbury, New Hyde Park and two dozen more sit inside it, and many of them are incorporated villages with their own governments, their own building departments and their own rules about what can stand in a road or on a verge.
Say "North Hempstead" on a booking and you have told us the postal region, not the rulebook. Say "Port Washington" or "Roslyn Harbor" and we can check the right office before dispatch instead of after. That single detail causes more delays here than the 37 minute drive ever does.
What does delivery cost at 20.6 miles?
$105 to $190. At this range the drive sets the floor and access moves it inside the band. North Shore properties tend to have real off-street space, so the access side is usually straightforward, but long private drives and gated entrances add time that has to go somewhere.
Weekly service is included on every rental. ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets weekly servicing as the minimum for a portable toilet in normal use, and our driver needs a clear vehicle approach plus about 30 feet of hose reach to the unit. What the North Shore actually rents
- Deluxe flushable units. The default here rather than the upgrade. On a residential property with landscaping crews and a household in residence, a standard unit is rarely the right call.
- Restroom trailers. Priced by stall count, needing level ground, power and a tow path in. Common for marquee events on private grounds.
- Home renovation units. Long jobs, usually on monthly rental rather than weekly.
- Roll-off dumpsters. Driveway placements, so the 20 yard is the workhorse and the sizes are compared on dumpster sizes and dimensions.
- Wedding restrooms. Private-grounds weddings book Saturdays out early through the summer.
Placement on a private property
Two checks decide it. Ground bearing, because a loaded unit on soft lawn after a wet week will sink and tilt. And clearance, because a standard unit is about 44 by 48 inches on manufacturer spec and that has to sit somewhere without blocking a path, a gate or a vehicle route.
Where units are clustered for an event, the 2010 ADA Standards section 213.2 exception 4 sets 5 percent of the cluster as the accessible share with a minimum of one, so an ADA accessible unit is part of any guest-facing bank. Do you need a permit out here?
On private property, no. That covers the large majority of North Hempstead bookings and it is why most jobs here can be delivered inside a week. A unit on a New York City street or sidewalk needs a Department of Transportation permit through a borough office, with turnaround from about a day to several weeks, and none of that system reaches Nassau County.

Crews and contractors
OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) requires one toilet per 20 workers on a construction site running a 40-hour week, counted by people on site rather than by employer, and OSHA 1926.51(f)(1) adds washing facilities where workers handle harmful substances.
