What a concert actually needs, which is not what a festival needs
Concert restroom rental is the supply of portable toilets, accessible units and crew restrooms for a single performance or a short run of them, usually built and struck inside 48 hours. The difference from a festival is the shape of the demand. A festival spreads usage across a day. A concert dumps almost all of it into two windows: the hour before doors and the twenty minutes after the last song.
That produces three separate orders on most New York shows:
- Audience units, in banks near the gates and the concourse, sized for peak queueing rather than average use
- Production and crew units, in the compound behind the stage, in place from load-in on the morning until the trucks pull out

How many portable toilets does a concert need?
Work from one unit per 50 attendees for a four hour show, and add 15 to 20 percent where alcohol is sold, which at a concert it usually is. Then treat the number as a queueing problem rather than a capacity problem, because everyone goes at the same two moments.

Where units are clustered at one point, the 2010 ADA Standards section 213.2 exception 4 sets the accessible share at 5 percent of the cluster, so a bank of 30 needs at least two ADA accessible units placed on level ground with their own approach rather than at the end of a gravel run. Do venue rules or city permits come first?
At Citi Field, Yankee Stadium and Randalls Island the venue sets service vehicle access, load-in windows and where a truck may park, and those rules are usually tighter than anything the city imposes. Flushing Meadows Corona Park and the Prospect Park bandshell run through the NYC Parks special events permit process, and a loaded vacuum truck stays on the service road there.
Open-ground and plaza shows are different again. If a unit sits on a New York City street or sidewalk, it needs a permit from the Department of Transportation, filed through borough offices, with turnaround running from about a day to several weeks depending on the borough and the type of work. Load-in, curfew and the delivery window
Most stadium and arena shows in this city have a load-in window measured in hours, and restrooms are competing for the same gate as the stage trucks. We would rather deliver the night before or first thing, before the production convoy arrives, than sit in a queue behind forty tons of staging.
Two local constraints shape that. The New York City Noise Code treats 10pm to 7am as the night period, which limits how late a strike can run in a residential setting, and outdoor venues sitting inside residential neighbourhoods, like the stadium in Forest Hills, run to tighter arrangements still. Crew and production restrooms
Back of house is where a concert restroom order quietly goes wrong. Fixed venue restrooms are usually on the public side of the security line, which means the crew either walks a long way or uses the audience units. Neither is what a production manager wants at 7am during a build.

Servicing between shows
ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets weekly servicing as the floor for a unit in normal use, and a concert is the opposite of normal use. A standard unit holds 60 to 70 gallons per manufacturer spec, and a bank of units at a sold-out show can need pumping before the next night rather than the next week. On a two-night or three-night run, plan an overnight service visit and give the truck an access point that does not cross the production compound.

Questions promoters and production managers ask
Can you deliver during load-in? We would rather not. Night-before or early-morning placement keeps us out of the way of the staging trucks and gets units in position before the site goes hot.
Who signs for the units on site? Name someone on the production side who will be reachable, not the venue switchboard. That single detail causes more delays than traffic does.
Do you supply barriers for the queue lines? Yes. Crowd control barrier and temporary fencing go out on the same trucks.
