Why does the peninsula change delivery?
Because Bayonne has water on three sides and a small number of approaches. Route 440 runs down the spine from Jersey City, the Bayonne Bridge crosses the Kill Van Kull to Staten Island, and that is broadly it. When one of those is backed up there is no alternative route to fall back on.
The practical consequence is that we treat Bayonne as a booked-window delivery rather than a turn-up-when-we-can one. Give us a day rather than an hour and the job goes smoothly. Ask for a 90 minute window on a Friday afternoon and we will tell you honestly that it is a coin toss.
What does delivery cost at 18.3 miles?
$95 to $180. Distance sets the floor here more than it does closer in, because 36 minutes each way is real truck time whatever the site looks like at the other end. Access still sets the ceiling: a fenced yard off Route 440 is a different job from a unit walked into a rear garden on a residential block near the water.
Weekly service is included on every rental. ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets weekly servicing as the minimum for a portable toilet in normal use, and our driver needs a clear approach plus roughly 30 feet of hose reach. A standard unit carries a 60 to 70 gallon holding tank on manufacturer spec, which is roughly 200 to 250 uses before it needs pumping, so weekly is genuinely enough on a small crew and clearly not enough on a busy one. Waterfront redevelopment is the main work
The old military ocean terminal land on the peninsula's eastern side has been redeveloping for years, and it now carries the cruise terminal, residential blocks and light industry side by side. Those sites order the same way port jobs do.

OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) requires one toilet per 20 workers on a construction site running a 40-hour week and the ratio steps up beyond that, counted by heads on site rather than by contractor. OSHA
1926.51(f)(1) separately requires washing facilities where workers handle harmful substances, which on marine and demolition work here means a handwashing station rather than a bottle of gel. Golf, marinas and the events that follow
Bayonne Golf Club sits out on the reclaimed land at the north end of the peninsula, and tournament work is its own category with its own placement logic: units spread across a course rather than banked at an entrance, sited so a service truck can actually reach each one. Marina and waterfront events want deluxe flushable units more often than standard ones, and larger ones want restroom trailers priced by stall count. Any public-facing cluster includes an ADA accessible unit, because the 2010 ADA Standards section 213.2 exception 4 sets 5 percent of a cluster as the accessible share, minimum one.
Does Bayonne handle permits like New York?
No. A unit on a New York City street or sidewalk needs a permit from the Department of Transportation, approved through borough offices with turnaround from about a day to several weeks. Bayonne runs its own street and right of way approvals through city offices on a local timeline, and none of the New York process applies.
Most Bayonne placements sit on private property and avoid the question entirely, which is one reason the market here is easier to serve than Hoboken despite being twice as far out. Where a unit does end up beside a footway, the same clearance test applies as anywhere: the 2010 ADA Standards require a 36 inch minimum clear width on a pedestrian access route in section 403.5.1.
