What the form asks, and why each answer matters
Nothing on the form is there to build a mailing list. Every field changes the number.
- Address with cross streets. Distance is the smaller half of a delivery charge. Access is the bigger half. A drop into a fenced lot in the Bronx costs less than a walked-in placement six minutes from our yard, because one takes ten minutes and the other takes an hour.
- Private property or public right of way. On private property we can usually be there same day or next. On a street or sidewalk, a permit from the New York City Department of Transportation comes first, borough offices handle approvals, and turnaround runs from about a day to several weeks depending on the borough and the type of work.
- Start and end dates. Weekend, week and month are three different rate structures, not one rate multiplied. See per day pricing against monthly rental for how far apart they sit.
- Headcount and hours per day. For crews, OSHA 1926.51(c)(1) requires one toilet per 20 workers on a site running a 40-hour week. For events, plan on one unit per 50 guests over four hours, plus 15 to 20 percent when alcohol is served.
- Unit type, if you already know. Standard, deluxe flushable, ADA accessible or a restroom trailer. If you do not know, how many porta potties you need works it out from the headcount.
What does a fair quote include?
A quote worth comparing shows you four lines, not one. Delivery. The rental period. Servicing, with the frequency stated. Pickup. If any of those are missing, they are hiding somewhere, and usually in the pickup.
Servicing is the line that gets fudged most often. ANSI/PSAI Z4.3 sets weekly service as the minimum for a unit in normal use, so weekly is a baseline rather than a feature. If a competing quote is noticeably cheaper, check whether it is quoting fortnightly service or none at all on a unit with a 60 to 70 gallon tank, because a standard tank takes roughly 200 to 250 uses before it needs pumping. Typical ranges, so you can sanity check us
These are market ranges reviewed in July 2026, not a quote for your address. Your number depends on access, dates and how far the truck travels.

Where units are clustered at an event, the 2010 ADA Standards section 213.2 exception 4 sets 5 percent of the cluster as the accessible share, which is why an ADA unit shows up on quotes for jobs that did not ask for one. Why we will not give you an instant online number
Because in New York City the number would be wrong often enough to be useless. Two addresses eleven blocks apart can differ by an hour of labour and a permit application. A quote engine cannot see that a loading zone runs 7am to 10am, that the only approach is a one-way street the wrong way, or that the sidewalk is too narrow to take a 44 inch unit against the 36 inch minimum clear width the 2010 ADA Standards require on a pedestrian access route in section 403.5.1.
A photo of the intended spot, taken on your phone, answers most of that in one message. Send it with the form if you have one. What we measure against it is simple: a standard unit is about 44 by 48 inches on manufacturer spec, and it needs a spot the truck can reach with roughly 30 feet of hose.
How long from quote to delivery?
Same day or next day is realistic for private property anywhere in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx or Staten Island. A week is normal for jobsites so the placement can be planned around the crew. Two to four weeks is sensible for any weekend event between May and October, because street fair and race season across all five boroughs of New York City concentrates demand onto a handful of dates.
Anything urgent skips the form. Emergency porta potty rental is a real service, it runs year round, and it is the right page when a job has already gone sideways.
Quoting a venue or a film shoot
If the job is at Citi Field, Yankee Stadium, Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Prospect Park or Randalls Island, get the venue's access rules before you send the form. Each one sets its own service vehicle windows and lead times, and those override anything we would otherwise schedule. Film and television production is the other case where the quote has to be built around someone else's calendar, usually at short notice and usually for deluxe units rather than standard.
